This part of our Visitor's Guide will cover another of the popular vacation areas of Orlando - Kissimmee, Florida.

As part of our collection, we will focus on this area alone and specifically, it's main artery - US Hwy 192, the 'heart and soul' of the Kissimmee area.

One of the truer 'crossroads' of the Orlando area, many of the roads that are located in Kissimmee converge in and around the Walt Disney World area, making it that much easier to navigate your way around.

Roads with names such as Interstate 4, US Hwy 192, Osceola Parkway, Hwy 417, Hwy 535, Hwy 536, the Florida Turnpike and World Drive are all part of the network here.

In addition to this, you'll even find a few other beacons to mark the way such as the sub-areas of West Maingate, East Maingate, and the US Hwy 192 Mile Markers that are unique to the Kissimmee area - all indicative of the neighborly environment that this area of Orlando shares with Walt Disney World.

This is all due to the fact that when Walt Disney World was originally built, it was placed approximately 18 miles from the Downtown area of Orlando and Orlando International Airport. Because of this the 100 square mile area that comprises the Walt Disney World resort left much more room for future development, such as the widening of US Hwy 192 via Kissimmee's 'Beautivacation' project, and the wide expanses yet to be developed that are located just north of Kissimmee and south of Orlando's International Drive.

In Kissimmee, you'll find a tourism based economy, rich in diversity and entrepreneurial spirit with lodging to fit every budget type. Ranging from tourist class motels to the area's World Renowned Resorts.

It is here in the Kissimmee area that you'll find most of the Orlando Vacation Homes and some of the hottest Real Estate markets throughout the State of Florida.
