Theme Parks - Gatorland
For over 50 years now, Gatorland Zoo has entertained,
thrilled and delighted audiences for years. Billed as Central
Florida's Best 'Half Day Attraction.' It's sure to delight the
younger and older members of your party - Especially boys, although
girls seem to enjoy just as much. And guess what? It won't hurt your
pocketbook either as general admissions are relatively low in
comparison to the major Theme Parks of the area.
Without doubt, the 'Main Attraction' here is the 'Gatorland Jumperoo'
a show that is put on about 3 times a day (Arrive 15 minutes early
to stake out your spot. You don't want to miss it!). There's also a
'Gator Wrestling' show that occurs several times throughout the
day...
Although there are a variety of 'live' animal exhibits to be viewed
throughout the Park. There always seems to remain two 'special
features' that always seem to stick with us - The 'Swamp Walk,' and
the miniature 'Train Ride' that takes you around the Park.
Naturally, most things here are themed around 'Alligators.' In fact
there's some 10,000 of them!
Factoid: Did you know that Gatorland was also a backdrop for one of
the sequels to the 'Indiana Jones' movies? And let's not forget
about the great 'Gift Shop' they have there with almost
'Museum-Like' qualities. A great place to pick-up some souvenirs...
Time Needed to visit: Allow 4-5 Hours
Directions:
From International Drive: Take the 'Central Florida Parkway' to
'John Young Rd,' then cross 'John Young Parkway' to 'South Orange
Blossom Trail' (OBT). Turn right onto 'South Orange Blossom Trail
and then continue on for several miles. It will be on your left-hand
side. You can't miss it!
From Lake Buena Vista: Best bet here is to take Hwy 535 toward
Kissimmee until you reach the 'Osceola Parkway.' As you go under the
Bridge, immediately turn left at the traffic light. There will be a
$1.00 'Toll' each way for this section of Osceola Parkway, but it's
well worth it. Once on Osceola Parkway, continue on and across John
Young Parkway, turn left onto South Orange Blossom Trail (OBT).
Gatorland will be on your right-hand side.
From Kissimmee: If staying anywhere 'West' of the junctions of
Hwy 535 and US Hwy 192 (and most of you probably are), follow the
same Directions as those of offered to our Lake Buena Vista viewers.
If staying 'East' of this junction, best just follow US Hwy 192 to
the junction of 'South Orange Blossom Trail' (OBT). Then turn left
onto 'South Orange Blossom Trail' and travel for a few more miles.
Gatorland will be on your right.
What to look for:
Look for 'gaping jaws' of the 'Great Green Alligator' which marks the
entrance. You'll want to take a picture too, as this attraction
truly represents the nostalgia of 'Roadside America,' an era long
since past...
Tickets:
Although you can generally find $3.00 off per person coupons almost
anywhere you go, we do offer this ticket at a much greater savings
over Gate Price. Just another way to save you some money. See our
