International Drive Area Locations Map...

One of the first 'planned' Lodging and Visitor sectors to be added following the 'Grand Opening' of Walt Disney World in 1972, the International Drive area continues to be a favorite with both the leisure and business travelers to the area.

"Build it, and they will come." As the saying goes. Having a catchy name and neat abbreviation - I-Drive - has made it immediately recognizable as 'Orlando'.

Well, that's exactly what the International Drive area has done, and continues to do over the years, as it evolves and expands by adding a myriad of Restaurants, Shopping Malls and areas, Attractions, Hotels and a world class Convention Centre. See the Map below...

The Orlando Convention Centre has doubled it's size in recent years and is now one of the largest in the US.

Thousand of business suited visitors are regularly seen milling around the area while the Tourist side of I-Drive moves rushes past them from Accommodation to Theme Parks and back. It can be a little surreal sometimes seeing the two together.

International Drive is easily split into 3 sections -
North Section - Covers Universal Studios, Malls and Tourist areas.
Central Section - is Orlando Convention Center and Sea World Orlando.
South Section - is the newest area of development with Resort Hotels Condotels and Malls.
