Disney's Wide World of Sports
It is home to the Spring Training Camp of the 'Atlanta Braves' Baseball Team and the 'Home Field' for Orlando's Minor League Baseball Team in regular season play for the 'Orlando Rays.' But there is more, much more, to this 'Multi-Sports' Complex. In fact, here's a few of 'sports themed' activities for all the ages to enjoy here: If you like 'Football' (The American version - Soccer), you'll have a chance to test your skills in simulated game experiences such as Disney's 'Football Training Camp,' Sudden Death' (a chance to kick the winning Field Goal) and 'Down and Out' where you'll be able to run a pass play. For the 'Soccer' enthusiasts, compete against some of your fellow travelers - A perfect opportunity to 'show off' some of your skills... A few buckets anyone? You'll find this here at the Half-Court 'Street Basketball' area... Let's not forget about 'Baseball' either where you can test the strength of your throwing arm at the' MPH Zone.' One nice thing about this complex, it's even open on the day of 'Special Events' or 'Competitions' that may be being held there. Some are even 'Nationally Televised ' Just another opportunity to enjoy this Complex. And what's more, it's all included in your admission! One of the highlights here for us was the Disney 'All Star' Café a great place to get a bite to eat. Relatively reasonable for for you're getting, make sure that you try the whopping 'All-Star Café Burger' - you won't forget it, and you'll enjoy it too. At any one time there's also 20 giant screened TV's broadcasting 'World-Wide' sporting events for your viewing enjoyment, plus there's great 'Sports Memorabilia' to be viewed as well. The 'All-Star' Cafe is open Thursday-Sunday 11:30 AM - 9:00 PM Although a 1-day admission for complex must be purchased directly from Disney, this attraction is included as a 'PLUS' option through the popular 'Hopper Passes' that Disney offers. Read more about this in our 'Tickets Explained' pages. Time Needed to Visit: Allow a Half-Day (or Night, depending on Special Events) There are no Height Requirements that we're aware of, and there's a great Kids area called the 'Kid Zone' for ages 2-8. |
