Almost Disney's 'Forgotten
Attractions', these two superb Miniature Golf Courses -
Winter Summerland Miniature Golf
and Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf; offer a great introduction
to Walt Disney World
Especially if you have just flown across the Atlantic on your first
trip and/or for first time Disney Visitors.
A round of Miniature Golf, on the first full day of your vacation, is
an easy way in to a hectic few weeks.
It's a nice and easy introduction to Disney also. Wow, if they can do
mini-golf this well, what about the rest?
A' round' should take 1.5 hours or so. Have a soda and a snack half
way round...
It also gives you an idea of the size of Walt Disney World, just
finding these two courses will take you past Hotels and Amenities one
after the other...
Hint: Try visiting late in the day. Miniature golf is less
hurried in the cool of the evening...
Personal favourite- Winter
Summerland... Possibly because it's not themed after any specific movie,
it just has a real 'nice feel' to it.
Winter
Summerland
Miniature Golf Course
As a extension of the themes at the adjacent Blizzard
Beach complex, Disney's Winter Summerland Miniature Golf
Course offers two themed 18-hole golfing experiences as
the summer retreat for Santa and his elves. Here you'll
find tropical palm trees adorned with ornaments and other
interactive features such as a squirting snowman, a
sleeping Santa, an old lodge made out of logs and a
challenging a hole that you'll have to putt the ball
between two model trains that circle a fully decked out
pine tree, strung with Christmas ornaments.
Picture stops include Santa in his sleigh and a surfing
Santa, and the conclusion of your experience here, you'll
also receive an E-mail message from Santa via the the Winternet.
Disney's Winter Summerland is also Disney's
newest Miniature golf Course so if you feel they've done a
good job on creating the Fantasia golf course near
Disney-MGM Studios you're probably in for a real treat at
the Winter Summerland course.

Fantasia
Gardens
Miniature Golf Course
Located across from Disney-MGM Studios, Fantasia Gardens
is an 18-Hole Miniature Golf Course complete with a theme
that's taken right out of the Disney classic "Fantasia."
The course comes complete with animated statues, sound
effects, music and other challenging obstacles such as the
memorable segment from the movie that's characterized by
the Hippo and Alligator (You remember them, don't you?
They danced together in the movie). And let's not forget
about the star of Walt Disney World and of the Movie
"Fantasia," he's here too, and perhaps he'll even be more
recognizable to our viewers as ''The Sorcerers
Apprentice." Here, you'll not only enjoy the
characterizations of the marching broomsticks from this
part of the movie, but also some dazzling water effects.
Dancing fountains, a waterfall, animations, music and a
40-ft mountain, it's all here at Fantasia Gardens. A fun
day, and a relatively inexpensive one at about $10.00 per
person, per course...
As part of the Fantasia Gardens complex, there's also
Fantasia Fairways. Here, you'll find more of a traditional
18-Hole Golf Course, but more so in the miniature. You'll
still have the water hazards, the sand traps and the
challenging contours that you would expect to find at any
Golf Course. Most holes are less than 75 feet in length
and it's beautiful floral arrangements makes it a perfect
extension of Fantasia Gardens. Although a little more
skill may be involved, it's still great place for the
novice, the avid golfer or the entire family. Besides, how
many Golf Courses are there where the whole family can
just relax, goof off and have fun.
Other Information:
Both Fantasia Gardens and Fantasia Fairway are located in
the area of the Swan and Dolphin Resort Hotels. Use these
two properties and the Disney MGM-Studios as your
landmarks. Separate Admission required for each course.
